Payment:
Half of the total payment is DUE AT THE FIRST GAME. The remaining balance is DUE BY THE START OF THE 4TH GAME.
*1. Player Eligibility:
A) Players must be current, retired or volunteer firefighters, police, corrections, park police, active military approved by league excluding goalies. They must be 18 years of age and they can be dispatchers for these departments as well. NOTE: Volunteers that are no longer active are considered civilians.
B) “Grandfather Status” As voted by the league. These civilians are part of the league and DO NOT count towards civilian players. Note: At the moment, only Kevin Kelley has this designation.
C) All Players must provide identification for proof of eligibility for the league. Civilians will have to produce identification prior to each and every game to the scorekeeper to get credit for that game played.
*2. Waiver:
All players must sign a waiver before they play.
*3. Captain’s Challenges:
A) If the opposing team wishes to challenge the eligibility of a player they must do so before the game starts, not during the game (unless a player comes late). The challenging team’s captain, assistant captain, (or team representative for that day) must bring the challenge to the administrator. If the administrator is not present you must bring the challenge to the scorekeeper.
B) If a challenge does take place, the player in question must prove his eligibility. If the administrator cannot prove the eligibility of the player before they play a game. if he cannot prove player eligibility then captain’s may either…
1) Play the game with the player in question and the offending team takes a forfeit.
2) Play the game without the player in question until his eligibility is proven.
C) If both teams are found to have ineligible players, both teams will receive a forfeit for that day.
*4. Substitute:
There will be NO substitutes allowed for games. If for some reason there aren’t enough people to play the game a scrimmage will be played with the deficient team taking a forfeit.
*5. Rosters:
There is no limit to the number of players on a team when all of the team players come from one department. Players may be added at any time during the season if they are on the job and the team has no cap restrictions. They may play after they are approved and on the official roster (which will be posted on the website.) If a new player plays before becoming approved, the team forfeits the game played. Up to 3 civilians are allowed per team. They must play a minimum amount of games (see playoff eligibility) to be eligible for the playoffs. They must be on the final roster when completed at the beginning of the season. If there is a civilian on a team, the team’s roster is limited to 20 players, including subs. All rosters become final (with noted exceptions to new on the job players) by the 4th week of the season.
*6. Playoff Eligibility:
There is no game minimum requirement for non civilians. Civilian players must have at least:
1) 6 games played for a 15 to 20 game regular season.
2) 8 game’s played for a 20+ game season.
*7 Score sheets:
All Score sheets have to been signed by both team representatives (preferably captains) after every game or your team doesn’t get credit for that game. All score sheets will be provided by the league. Civilians must be listed on the score sheets each game to prove playoff eligibility.
*8. Rules:
A) USA Hockey rules will apply to all games with the exception of:
-1) Any offense for intent to injure, the offender will be ejected from the league without refund, this includes fighting.
-2) FIGHTING will NOT be tolerated ” AT ALL “, offender’s team will receive a 5 minute major and a game misconduct and the offender will be ejected from the game.
+a) FIRST OFFENSE, the offender will have to sit 2 games not including that game.
+b) SECOND OFFENSE, the offender will be BANNED FROM THE LEAGUE FOR 12 MONTHS from the date of offense with no refund. If the offender is a civilian he/she will be BANNED FROM THE LEAGUE FOREVER.
+c) All fighting penalties will be reviewed by the league administrator after the game or as soon as possible the day of the offense. That decision will be made as soon as all parties are contacted
B) Any player receiving 3 aggressive penalties in a game will be ejected from that game.
+a) Minor penalty’s will be 1:30 minutes
+b) Major penalties will be 3:00 minutes.
+c) Misconducts will be 6:00 minutes * *Misconduct penalties will count as two aggressive penalties towards an ejection.
C) All penalties assessed by the on-ice officials are final and cannot be changed.
D) Abuse of an on-ice official or off-ice official (i.e. scorekeeper, league administrator, etc., will result in a minor penalty. If the offense takes place during a game, and additional sanctions up to an ejection from the league with no refund if the abuse is so egregious.
Games:
1) Monday’s games will be at 8:45am and 9:45am.
2) Wednesday’s games will be at 8:45 and 9:45am.
3) If a game falls on a holiday it may be played or moved to a Thursday of the same week. The website will be updated to reflect the change in schedule. Each team will play one game per week. If there are an uneven number of teams, one team will have a bye. CANCELLATIONS: ( i.e. blizzard, hurricane, flooding, rink closing etc,etc…) The Captains, or team representatives will be notified by the league administrator as soon as possible, normally the day before. We will try to have the website updated as well.
4) There will be 3 periods of 12 minute stop time. If one team is leading by more than 6 goals in the third period the game will change to running time.
5) There will be no center red line for offside.
6) There will be automatic icing.
7) “NO CHECKING”.
8) Full Slap shots are allowed.
9) There will no overtime for regular season games.
10) There will be no time-out for regular season games.
11) If a team has no goalie they can play with 5 players and it will be a legal game. A team can play with 4 players and a goalie and it will be a legal game.
12) If for some reason your team can not make a game the team captain must contact the league administrator and the captain of the other team so they can notify the necessary people ( the other team, rink, scorekeeper, officials). These people have to be paid for showing up even if there isn’t a game.
*9. The following order will determine the standing:
1) Most wins
2) Most points
3) Goals for
4) Goals against
5) Most wins for two tied teams
*10. Playoffs:
With 6 teams in the league, only the top 4 teams will make the playoffs. The highest seed will play the lowest seed. The second seed will play the second lowest seed, etc. The playoffs are single elimination until the finals. Finals are best of 3. Remember to have fun, this league is for exercise and having a good time. Everyone has to work the next day.
